100 Things

Hello everyone!
I'm so excited to have followers now! I hope I don't bore you all to tears. :)

I thought it would be fun to make a list of 100 things about me because I saw it on The Wilson Family Blog and she was able to make it look easy. Here we go!

1. I was born on 9/9/90 and that is why my favorite number is 9.
2. I go to SMU but hate it.
3. School is stressful and I wish I didn't have to go.
4. College is not what I thought it would be because I am not involved as much as I should be.
5. I still have no idea what to major in or what I want to do when I graduate.
6. My boyfriend is my best friend.
7. Hanging out with him never gets old.
8. I'm so excited to get a house that I can decorate.
9. I wish I was married.
10. I get jealous when I look at blogs with happy families because I wish I was old enough to have one of my own.
11. I've already decided I will get married outdoors, probably in a garden of some sort.
12. I love ice cream, I could eat it everyday if it wouldn't make me fat.
13. My favorite lately is Butterfinger ice cream from Braums.
14. I love baking but hardly have time because of school.
15. I am trying to learn how to cook better and would love to try some new recipes.
16. I like making tacos because they are yummy.
17. When I was in high school I worked at a restaurant and was a hostess and then a waitress.
18. I liked making money but my boyfriend was my boss so it was no fun sometimes.
19. I am a pretty shy person.
20. I like to listen to people rather than talk, most of the time.
21. I want to learn how to sew.
22. Although, I don't know that I would be patient enough to learn.
23. I love my family and love hanging out with them.
24. I love having 2 older sisters.
25. I think we look a lot alike, what do you think?
26. We were all on the drill team in high school. (Our drill team is a dance team not one that uses guns. haha. :) )
27. I hated dancing and was awkward and was much better at singing.
28. I was in choir and the show group in high school. It was so much fun performing.
29. I am a homebody and like to be at home rather than other places.
30. I don't go out drinking and partying much unlike most college students.
31. Sometimes I feel like i'm 30 already, but i like my life so I don't mind.
32. I want to find a church with a young adult group to join.
33. I miss going to church, but Ryan works on Sundays and I don't want to go alone.
34. The part I miss most is the praise music.
35. I love reality tv.
36. Some of the show I watch are Greys Anatomy, House, Glee, Teen Mom, The Mentalist, Criminal Minds, Flipping Out, Real Housewives, Desperate Housewives.... and many more!
37. I can fall asleep really fast if I'm tired and basically anywhere and with the light on.
38. I love getting 12 hour nights. :)
39. I want to loose 10 pounds.
40. I need to start a workout routine soon, probably once I move into the new house.
41. There are a lot of trails around the new house and I would much rather run outside than on a treadmill.
42. I love HGTV because I wish I could design like all the designers, I'm just not very creative.
43. I already have a boy name picked out but everyone hates it, Dylan Connor... so, unfortunately, I won't get to use it. :(
44. I dont know of any girl names I like.
45. My natural hair color is blonde.
46. My eyebrows are naturally dark so it looks like I dye it when it is my natural color.
47. I love having bangs and can't imagine not having them.
48.  I will only let my hair lady touch them because nobody else knows how to cut them right.
49. I love the movie V for Vendetta.
50. I don't really like going to movies.
51. I absolutely HATE mushrooms.
52. I am a very picky eater.
53. I am very indecisive.
54. I love to read.
55. During the summer I try to read around 25 books.
56. I think it is interesting learning about cults, I took a course last semester on cults and it was so fun.
57. Now I read books on them, by choice, and learn a whole lot about the mind of an individual in a cult.
58. I also like studying forensics, I took a class in high school but all we did was watch CSI...
59. I hate writing papers.
60. I like to wear gray clothes.
61. I hate spending money.
62. I like to shop but get frustrated because I don't like all the styles out right now.
63. I love country music.
64. In my wedding I want to dance to Bring it on Home by Little Big Town.
65. I don't like drinking soda and if I do I only like Sprite, not Sierra Mist or 7UP.
66. I would much rather drink water, except at Cheddars when I get Strawberry Lemonade. :)
67. I love steak and baked potatoes. 
68. I'm not a big fan of Pizza.
69. Bugs scare me, especially roaches.
70. I am also afraid of most big dogs, I have been attacked twice.
71. I wish my teeth were the color of paper.
72. I used to whiten them all the time and now I have to space it out since my enamel started coming off. lol. oops!!
73. I never had braces, neither did my mom.
74. I am so much like my Mom and I love it!
75. My parents are still married and in love.
76. I hope I can be like them when I'm 50.
77. I like sleeping on really flat pillows. It hurts my neck otherwise.
78. I love to take pictures but always forget my camera.
79. I drive a silver VW Bug and love it!
80. I don't like driving though and would much rather be driven around... although I know that can't happen. :)
81. I hate doing laundry. 
82. I love that Ryan is a clean freak so that I don't have to do it!
83. But, he makes me fold and hang the clothes, which I hate.
84. My best friend goes to The University of Texas.
85. I'm sad that she doesn't live here and hang out with me all the time.
86. Me and Ryan tell each other everything.
87. I hate keeping secrets from him even if it is a surprise.
88. My favorite thing about the new house is that I have a toilet room, I've always wanted one!!!
89. I wish I could live in California because I love the weather and atmosphere, but it is so expensive to live there.
90. I hope to have 2 kids, no more, but that may change once I have them. :)
91. I don't cry a lot.
92. Ryan and I met at a friends church.
93. I am so thankful to have him in my life.
94. I love that he is tall, 6'4, because I love to rest my head on his chest.
95. I'm excited to celebrate our 4 year anniversary soon!! :) :)
96. I want to learn to garden in my new backyard, maybe even try to grow strawberries.
97. I love eating Mexican Food, especially Tex-Mex.
98. I love my cat that lives with my parents, sometimes I think he is a person.
99. Since he is too old to take to my new house I am getting a new kitty.
100. I can't believe I could think of this many things about myself!

For today's Top 2 Tuesday it's favorite songs. I can't pick for all time but i'll choose what i'm listening to now. I have been listening to a lot of country music lately so i'll share these for now.

I just love this song. I think the lyrics are really good too!

2. Stuck Like Glue- Sugarland

I liked the song when I heard it on the radio, but it is so much better when you see the video. It is soo funny. I feel like the song takes on a new meaning when watching the video.

New Fall Layout

Well, I am still figuring out how to use Blogger but I was able to find a cute fall layout to put up. I want to learn how to make my own layouts and headers but I think that will come to me with time.

On another note I have been looking around for kitties and I found some I like but I can't get them until I move. :( These cute little guys I want to squeeze right now!

Aww.. Aren't they just the sweetest little things? I hoping that they will still be there when I go to get a new pet.

I don't have anything too interesting to talk about today so i'll leave you with this dress I found at Modcloth.com :

If I had somewhere to go that I could wear this then I for sure would get it. Since purple is my favorite color it makes it even better.

Busy Week!

Hello all,
Sorry I've been missing for a while, but I've been so busy with school and house stuff. I guess I'll recap this week since i've last blogged.

Wednesday: Went to class and was busy studying for my Business Statistics test that was on Thursday. When I got home I was informed, after much negotiation, that our offer was accepted and we have a house! We close on the 21st of October and I'm so super excited. I spent the rest of the week looking at room designs online and searching for furniture for the new place.

Thursday: I had a test and I'm pretty sure I aced it! I was worried that I wouldn't do well in this class because I hadn't taken a math course since my junior year in high school but I was able to catch up and learn pretty fast. This was my first test of the new semester so I had a little test anxiety as well. At night I had an initiation meeting with a group I joined at school. The group is called Phi Sigma Pi and it is a national honor fraternity. I never joined greek life on my campus so I thought this would be a good way to make friends but also learn a lot about service and scholarship. I have an eight week initiation course and then we will be the founding class at SMU! I'm excited about all the activities we will do, and being on the fundraising committee I will be able to have a good impact on the things we do.

I would like to point out though that I am not an OFFICIAL member until after I complete my 8 week course. :)

Friday: I went to school again and had another test, this time in advertising. I think I did pretty good on it but I have to wait and see the final grade before I get too excited. On Friday night SMU played TCU for the Iron Skillet and unfortunately they lost but I think put up a good fight, after all, TCU is a pretty good team and SMU isn't really the best. :) I still rooted on my team, PONY UP!!!

For dinner I went to Cheddars with Ryan and his sister, Desirea and her husband Patrick and we had happy hour, but the server didn't inform us that the drinks we got were not on happy hour so we spent too much on them but oh well. Live a little sometimes, right? I love Cheddars because the food is good and they are priced really well. Afterwards we went to Pet Smart and looked at the cats because I want one so bad! I'm gonna get one in the new house!!!

Saturday: Since our offer was accepted we are now under contract and could have an inspection done on the house. We went to the house and the inspector took us around to the little things that needed to be fixed, but overall the house is in really good shape so there was not much to go over or to worry about! Thank God! After that we found this discount furniture store and bought a table that looks similar to this:

It may actually be this I'm just not sure if it is the exact one. I like it because it is tall and it will fit in the eat-in-kitchen really well. It is also a bonus that we got a really good deal on it! I love bargain shopping! After the furniture shopping we had dinner at Desirea and Patrick's house and it was really good. We had a Honey Baked Ham, green beans, corn, biscuits, and mashed potatoes. For dessert I made my famous Apple Crisp and it was just as delicious as always. To round up the day, I watched some shows I needed to catch up on, Grey's Anatomy and Glee. They always make me in a better mood. 

Today: I had a much needed lazy day and did homework and watched my guilty pleasure, The Real Housewives of DC. I love all the Real Housewives shows besides Atlanta because I just don't find that one entertaining. I'm going to finish up tonight with more homework and a trip to the grocery store.

Top 2 Tuesday

I found this on another blog and I think I'm going to start doing it every week.

1. 

I use this Redken Color Extend Shampoo and conditioner because I heard it was the best for color. Since my hair is naturally blonde I need a shampoo that will keep the dark color in for as long as possible and not fade to red! This product works great and smells good too!

2. 

This is Paul Mitchell Super Skinny Smoothing Serum. I don't use this product all the time but occasionally it makes my hair really soft. I especially use it after I dye my hair because it helps smooth it and not be so coarse. The only downsize is that if you get it on your roots it tends to make them look greasy, and who likes that....?

What a long day

Hello everyone. I sure had a busy day today. I can now give you updates on the house situation because I was able to have a showing today with Ryan. The first time he went to the house without me because I had to go to school. The house is so cute, it has wood flooring in the living room and throughout the hallways, large tiles in the kitchen, and new carpet in the bedrooms and the den. They also have replaced all the windows and have granite in the kitchen. There are stainless steel appliances and and both bathrooms are updated. It is also by an elementary school so whenever we have kids we will be able to walk them to school. I think it is the perfect house so we are securing our finances and will more than likely put an offer on it tomorrow. I'm so excited for this new chapter in my life.

This weekend was fun. On friday after school we hung out with Ryan's sister and her husband and I was able to play with their new baby. Gavin was born on August 12 and he is just the sweetest thing. We usually have game night on friday nights so this week we played Monopoly and Rummikube. It's always a good time over there and now its fun to play while the baby is sleeping and it gives the new mommy, Desirea, time off.

Then on saturday me and Ryan made a long trip to The Dump, the furniture store not the place you put trash, and we were looking for furniture ideas for our new home. We didn't really see anything we liked but now we have decided we want a sectional sofa. We already have a set of microsuede furniture with a couch, love seat, and chair, but since we will now have 2 living areas we have to get another set of furniture. Anyone with ideas of a good furniture place to look in the Dallas area then let me know! We also checked out Rooms-to-go and weren't very impressed, although their prices aren't bad. I would like to find some older furniture too so that I can try and fix it up and make it a personal piece. I want to get creative with things now.

Sunday was a relaxing day, I hung out around the apartment while Ryan went to work. I seriously need to start working out, all I do is sit around. Whenever we get the new house there are so many trails around it that I would love to go biking and running around. Hopefully that will get me into shape. Wish me luck on that!

Anyways, I'm off to take a practice test for Statistics because I have my first test of this semester on Thursday and my first advertising test on Friday. Busy busy week.

Welcome to my Blog

I guess i'll start by telling you a little bit about my life. I currently am a student at Southern Methodist University with my major still undecided. I don't really enjoy school, but I know I have to get through it and finish. I'm not sure what I would like to do when I graduate but we will see. I am in a relationship with my best friend, Ryan, and we were high school sweethearts. He is my first love and hopefully my only love. :) We talk about marriage all the time but I know I have to finish college first. I can't wait to get married and for all the planning to begin. This year on our anniversary we will have been together for 4 years.

I also love spending time with my family. I have 2 sisters, one 13 months older, and one 8 years older. I love my family and wouldn't trade it for anything. I still go visit my parents once a week, which is very unusual for most college students I know.
I have a love for baking and enjoy trying new things. My newest thing is making cupcakes, I have been doing cakes for a while now and wanted a change. I sometimes think I want to be a pastry chef, but I have to finish school before I can even consider doing that.

A new adventure that I am about to embark on is moving to a new house with Ryan. Ryan is buying a house and I will be living there, I know we aren't married but in my opinion you need to live with someone before you are married to make sure you can get along. I can't wait for all the decorating I will be doing so soon.
