I'm linking up for the first time in a while for WILW with Jamie!

There are so many things I am loving lately.

I'm loving that yesterday, June 7, was Ryan's 22nd birthday!
He had to work but he got off at 3 and could hang out with me for the rest of the day. He said that was the best present he could ask for. :) How sweet! So for dinner Ryan's dad and sister and brother-in-law came over and we made chicken fajitas!! They were really good and we got to use the new grill!

I'm loving our new grill!
I will say that it is actually an old gas grill that Ryan's dad had never used before and he gave it to us because he prefers to use charcoal, which I hate, so it was a win win situation! yay!
Monday night we cooked sausage, zucchini and squash and it was so good!

It is small but it does the job!

I'm also loving that I made banana bread yesterday and i'm really excited to eat some in the morning! My favorite thing to do is heat it up just a little bit in the microwave and then the top gets a little glaze on it!! Yum, that makes me want to go eat some now, which I shouldn't hehe.
However I did have a little accident with my Kitchen-Aid and I got batter ALL OVER ME!

PROOF... haha.

I'm also loving the new curtains we got for our living room. We have a wall of four windows and the room is super bright and gets pretty hot during the middle of the day so we needed curtains that would shield the heat. Pictures to come..

I'm loving that at night it cools down a little so I can sit outside for a little while and let the pets explore. Belle, the cat, loves to go outside but I'm scared to let her be outside alone so we go out in the backyard for about 30 min a day and she really enjoys that.

I'm loving that its swimming time and it gets pretty hot during the days. I went swimming 3 days in a row last weekend at my parents house. Summer is my favorite time.

And I'm ALWAYS loving my sweet birthday boy Ryan. :)

Even when he looks silly in the sun! :)

I'm Back!

Hello Lovely Ladies!

I have been gone for a while from this blog but I'm back and hope to keep it that way! In the month that I have been away I have finished my sophomore year of college, took a week long vacation to see my sister and baby Hayden in Oklahoma, got ACCEPTED into my major, finally (I am officially an Advertising major!!!) , watched my sister graduate from college, and lounged around the house without anything to do. During this time I had bloggers block and I couldn't think of things to post about so I hope my blogging mojo is back and I can blog on a more regular basis.

Lets start with being out of school for the summer:
I am so excited that I don't have to wake up for anything special, unless I want to of course. My parents have been bugging me to get a job but I don't know what I want to do. I really love baking so I may look for a part time job in a bakery. The only downside is that I don't know if they want experienced bakers or if they would take someone who is new at this. I mean I know how to bake a cake and the basics of icing a cake with a bag and the tools, but I'm not too familiar with writing on cakes using icing. I may email around to see if anyone needs help in my area. Another downside to working is that my car is temperamental and has been dying on me when I try to start it. My little bug has been into the shop a lot lately to "try" and fix things but so far it seems it is only a little improved. The hard thing about servicing my car is that it is a VW and so being foreign not all shops know how to work on it and if you take it to the dealership the charge you an arm and leg to do any kind of work on it. So here I am $1600 later and my car is semi-fixed..... oh joy!

On a lighter note I was so excited to get to spend a week with my sister and baby Hayden. I can't believe he is now a month old and is growing! I think he is still in premie clothes and diapers so he is still a little guy but he is healthy and so cute! I think the best kinds of vacations sometimes are vacations where you don't have much to really do so you get to relax and enjoy your time away from home. Here are some pictures of the time I was there.

My Nephew has arrived!!

Hello everyone!!

I am very excited to announce that my nephew was born yesterday, May 3, in the afternoon at 12:17.

Hayden Paul Nordstrom
5 lbs 2 oz 18in long

Hayden was born 6 weeks early but he is healthy and I guess just wanted to come early. My sister, Lori, started having contractions around 9:30 on Monday night and didn't want to accept that she was in labor. They eventually went to the hospital at 2AM and she was dilated to a 5. They gave her medicine to stop the contractions but they didn't stop and they had to transfer her to another hospital with a better NICU just in case he had any problems, but thankfully there weren't any. When she got to the other hospital she was dilated to an 8 and knew that she was going to have the baby that day. I got the call around 7AM and had class so I couldn't go up there quite yet. She stalled for a while and then they broke her water and she had him naturally with no drugs after pushing for 1.5 hours! It's a miracle that he was so healthy and they only had to keep him in the observation room because he couldn't maintain his own temperature.

So after my class me and my other sister drove up to Oklahoma and got to meet Hayden! The sucky thing is that I had a final today at 11:30 so we had to get up and drive back home this morning EARLY so I could make it. He decided to come on exam week so I have exams until Monday and even one on Saturday so I can't go back to visit until after that. :(

He is so small that he only fits in Premie clothes! We had to go out and buy some because they didn't expect to have him wear them. My sister is doing really good and she was walking around afterwards and was very active because she wasn't all drugged up. They said they thought that baby Hayden did so good because he didn't have drugs in his system.

I can't wait to go back in 2 weeks!!

And that's what I'm LOVING today!!
