My Nephew has arrived!!

Hello everyone!!

I am very excited to announce that my nephew was born yesterday, May 3, in the afternoon at 12:17.

Hayden Paul Nordstrom
5 lbs 2 oz 18in long

Hayden was born 6 weeks early but he is healthy and I guess just wanted to come early. My sister, Lori, started having contractions around 9:30 on Monday night and didn't want to accept that she was in labor. They eventually went to the hospital at 2AM and she was dilated to a 5. They gave her medicine to stop the contractions but they didn't stop and they had to transfer her to another hospital with a better NICU just in case he had any problems, but thankfully there weren't any. When she got to the other hospital she was dilated to an 8 and knew that she was going to have the baby that day. I got the call around 7AM and had class so I couldn't go up there quite yet. She stalled for a while and then they broke her water and she had him naturally with no drugs after pushing for 1.5 hours! It's a miracle that he was so healthy and they only had to keep him in the observation room because he couldn't maintain his own temperature.

So after my class me and my other sister drove up to Oklahoma and got to meet Hayden! The sucky thing is that I had a final today at 11:30 so we had to get up and drive back home this morning EARLY so I could make it. He decided to come on exam week so I have exams until Monday and even one on Saturday so I can't go back to visit until after that. :(

He is so small that he only fits in Premie clothes! We had to go out and buy some because they didn't expect to have him wear them. My sister is doing really good and she was walking around afterwards and was very active because she wasn't all drugged up. They said they thought that baby Hayden did so good because he didn't have drugs in his system.

I can't wait to go back in 2 weeks!!

And that's what I'm LOVING today!!

Tail Wagging Tuesday

Hey lovelies!

I found this cute little linky and thought I would join in! This should help brighten my day since I have been having the worst cold and cramps today. :( Since I love my pets I am excited to talk about them!

Both Belle and Cali love to lay on the bed when we are in there.

I'm so glad they are able to lay together now and not attack each other.

Belle also likes to lay on top of the dresser whenever there is crap on top of it.

When we go to sleep Cali has to sleep in her kennel because otherwise she would try to play with Belle all night or try to lay on the bed with us and our bed is way too small for that! haha.

This picture is from when we first got her so she looks so small!

Belle sleeps on the bed with us and lounges out!

I just love both of my babies!

Come back and visit!

Carmen

Marvelous Monday`

Hello everyone!!

I hope everyone is having a good day despite the rain we are getting here in DFW! I've had such a good weekend and I was not ready to start back at school but this is my last full week of the semester!! It really has flown by but i'm ready for it to be over.

This weekend my sister and her husband came into town and she had her 2nd baby shower! I had such a good time planning it and getting everything ready for baby boy. He is already so spoiled by everyone! They pretty much got all the necessities for right now and just need to get a couple more things before he is born. She had 7 weeks to go and I can't wait to meet him and find out his name.

Friday we all went to dinner at Houlihans and we shared a bunch of small plates. I had a good time catching up with my sister Lori and feeling the baby move! I forgot to take pictures that night! Oops!

Saturday was Lori's Texas baby shower and i think it turned out really good. We had a slight cowboy theme because we didn't want to go overboard with a theme. I made the cupcakes and the diaper cake and my sister painted her a rocking horse! Lori was so happy and she loves everything. It was a small group of about 25 people so everyone got the chance to talk and catch up on things since Lori doesn't live here anymore and they don't get to see her often.

Me, Mere, Lori and our mom.

Sisters! Can you tell?? haha.

All the hosts! We had so many that we were able to get her the jogging stroller she wanted.

The diaper cake I made!

The rocking horse. The colors match the baby room.

My cupcakes!!

Each color matches the nursery.

We put the flowers in boots so that it would be more of a western theme.

We made Sonic Ocean Water and put orange food coloring with Sprite.

The tulips started opening and they were so pretty.

Me and Mere

There was a fondue station.

And frosted grapes.

And citrus water.

Opening presents.

and again.

Lori and her best friend from high school.

The three of us.

In front of our pool!

After the shower we all went to dinner with the boys and it was so nice outside that we were able to sit on the patio. Too bad it started raining and so we had to go in. The waiter probably thought we were trying to skip out on the check! haha.

Sunday we all went to church and it was a wonderful service. The choir sang beautifully and it made me realize I want to join a church choir again sometime. I miss singing in a group. We then had a feast after church made by my parents. We had lamb, country ham, roasted potatoes, deviled eggs, spring mix salad with apples, pecans, feta cheese and raspberry vinaigrette dressing. We also had a pickle tray, corn, and rolls. For dessert my mom made a cake and we had lemon bars and cupcakes. It was so delicious!

I hope everyone had a wonderful Easter and remembered why we celebrate this day.

Have a good week!!

WILW

Good afternoon ladies!!
I hope everyone is enjoying this beautiful weather if you live in the Dallas area! I'm wearing shorts and it feels great!

I'm linking up with Jamie today to share my loves for the week!

I'm loving that we had a reunion for my drill team at the show for this year and my bestie came into town for it! We have a spring show every year and this year it was the 20th anniversary of our team so all the alumni was invited to the show and a tea. My bestie Erica that goes to the University of Texas drove down to see it!!

Some of my high school friends!

Me and my sister Meredith! This picture has weird lighting.

Yay! I love them so much!

I'm loving these shoes that I bought for the show!!

They are Guess wedges from DSW. :)

I'm loving the new Bravo show Pregnant in Heels.

It is so funny and those women are crazy!! I don't really know why I decided to add ANOTHER show to the thousands that I already watch but that's ok!

I also love that United States of Tara is back on. If you don't know that show you should definitely watch it. The show is about a woman with multiple personalities, but it is on Showtime so it is kinda vulgar at times.

I'm loving that I finally got to register for my classes for next semester! It is so stressful and i'm glad it is over, at least for another semester.

I'm always loving Ryan and my pets!

I would like to go back here please!

Belle eating stupid grass and Cali and her black spotted tongue. :)

Have a lovely day!!
