This week I really love the topic. I love pictures but unfortunately all of my super old pictures are at my parents and would need to be scanned so i'll stick to 4 years ago or so.

1.

This picture is about 4 years old. When me and Ryan met I had blonde hair, this color blonde is not my natural color but notice the eyebrows! They are so dark for me to have naturally blonde hair. We both look so young its so funny. :)

2.

This picture is of me and my sister from about 5 years ago. We had a "photo shoot"outside with one of my best friends and took some cute photos. I love the walking and holding hands look. I miss those times and being that skinny!! :)

Blog Challenge: Day 5 and 6

I missed yesterday so I'm catching up today!

Day 5: My siblings

I have 2 beautiful sisters and we are often called "The Golden Girls" because our last name is Golden. :) 

The pictures are us throughout the years and the top one is the most recent from August. I love having sisters and can't even imagine having brothers instead. We can talk to eachvother about anything and know that we will support each other. I am the baby of the family so I had 2 sisters before me to have the typical "mess ups" that I was supposed to learn from. :) By the time I was the only one in the house my parents were very laid back and hardly cared about anything, I think I got the good end of the deal! 

The Older sister Lori:

Lori is eight years older than me but we still have a very close relationship. Lori went the Oklahoma State University for elementary education and met her husband Jon. She no longer teaches and now works for the Oklahoma State capitol for one of the House of Representatives. He husband, Jon, is a chiropractor and has his own practice in Oklahoma. Growing up we never fought and I'm sure I was just the cute little sister because my other sister would fight and want to follow her and her friends around. I try to visit as much as I can but school and life gets in the way sometimes. I think I look most like Lori and I don't mind because I look up to her in so many ways.

The Middle Sister Meredith:

Meredith is 13 months older than me so we grew up doing everything together. I would love to have kids that are so close in age but that is crazy to have one after another. We both go to SMU and currently live together in an apartment until the end of the month when our lease is up. We do fight but usually act like best friends. I enjoy her company even when she gets on my nerves. :) Meredith is a perfectionist and she wont leave a project along until it is perfectly finished. She used to dye my hair and it was like an art project for her! Because I was the youngest I was expected to follow in my sisters footsteps but I branched out and did my own thing eventually and I'm glad that I did. 

I love my sisters so much and I hope I can have 2 girls so they can share the bond like I did. 

My cat basically my brother:

Kito is my cat that lives with my parents. We found him when I was 7 and he is still her today at 13 or 14. We grew up with Kito and I love him so so much. I don't know what i'll do when something happens to him. I want a cat of my own once I get into my new house so I can build a new bond with a pet. Kito likes to play with paper and strings and those spider rings you get for Halloween, we call them "pideys".

Day 6: A picture that makes me happy

I'm going to pick 2 pictures because I can't choose between them. :)

This picture is from my sisters wedding in August of 2007. This is me and Ryan dancing, he is singing the song to me and I'm smiling and looking at him. I think my face shows the emotions that I have for him. I look really short but I'm really not, Ryan is just 6'4 maybe taller with shoes on.. I even have on heels. :)

This picture is from our vacation this summer. We are in California on Catalina Island at the top of the Wrigley Memorial. This is a candid picture and I love it. Every time I look at this picture it reminds me of the amazing trip and I wish I could go back in time and enjoy it more.

Day Four: My Parents

Day 4: My Parents

I can't even begin to describe how much I love my parents and enjoy their company. I am proud to say that they are still together and very much in love today. They met when my mom was 18 and my dad was 20 and were married a year later. They actually met on a blind date, which I think is really cool! They both grew up in Kentucky and decided shortly after getting married that they wanted to leave and move to Texas. Yay! They waited 9 years before having any children and I came along when my mom was 36. They had 3 beautiful girls and have now been married for 37 years. I look up to them so much and hope that one day when I'm married and have children I can be as good of a parent as they have been to me and my sisters. I am just like my mom, i have all her weird traits and all her bad problems and good things too. I don't think I look too much like her but I do resemble her for sure. They have provided for my sisters and I and always tried to give us everything we wanted. Now that I'm older i realize all that they really have done so that we can be happy and I am so thankful for everything. I still visit with them once a week and they make dinner for me, which is always good btw. I could go on and on but I will spare you the details. :) Basically I love my parents so so much and I can't imagine living far away from them.

30 Day Blog Challenge

Well, like many others i decided to join in on the fun but have missed a couple days. I will catch up on those days and try to post everyday so my followers can get to know me a little bit more. :)

Day 1:

Recent Picture of Me

My name is Carmen and I am currently a student at SMU. I have a boyfriend of almost four years and am totally in love with him. He recently bought a house so I will be living there with him and putting my decorative touches on the place. We live in Texas and I have both lived here our whole lives. Since being in college I haven't found a good church to join and the boyfriend works on Sundays, which makes everything even harder. I hope to find a church and begin a new and even better relationship with God really soon. I hope this blog helps me find some friends and a place where I can look back and see how my life has progressed over time.

Facts:

1. I have 2 sisters and I wouldn't change that for anything in the world.

2. I have no idea what I want to do once I graduate college. 

3. I can't wait to get married and have kids.

4. I end up always buying black or grey clothes without thinking about it. I have no idea why, I guess it makes you look more flattering.

5. I love ice cream, I wish I could have it everyday without it making me fat. :)

6. I love to read, but it's hard to read books I enjoy during school.

7. I really HATE going to college but I need to get a college education.

8. Singing is a passion and I wish I would have gotten involved in a choir at school.

9. I love watching reality TV and just TV shows in general.

10. I love to listen to country music and classic rock.

11. I am a homebody and love lounging on my couch with my boyfriend and relaxing.

12. I love to sleep, but I don't like to take naps.

13. I am afraid of most dogs because I have been bit twice.

14. I HATE mushrooms and weird textures. I will gag very easily.

15. I don't have many close friends because I am very shy but once you get to know me I will open up and show a different side of myself.

Day 2:

Meaning behind my blog name

Well, I had no idea what to name my blog when I first started because I was new to this whole thing. A lot of people have family blogs and use their last names for their title, but since it was just me I had to do something else. Well my name is Carmen and I live in Texas so that is why I used this name. It's not very interesting, but that pretty much sums it up. I hope with my blog I can document my life kind of like an electronic journal and explain my thoughts and feelings about certain things.

Day 3:

My First Love

I would have to say that my first love is also my current love. My boyfriend and I are high school sweethearts (not from the same high school or the same grade though) and I hope will be my only love. He makes me laugh and we have so much fun together. Whether we are relaxing at home or traveling on vacation we never seem to get bored of each other and I really enjoy his company. I can't wait for us to be married and have a family together.

Sorry i've been MIA

Hey guys,
Sorry i've been super busy and on vacation so I haven't had a chance to post lately so hopefully this will make up for it!
Last week was pretty relaxed with school, which was good because the last couple of weeks have been absolute torture with all the tests and projects that have been due. On Friday our Fall Break started and we were out of school until Wednesday. It was a much needed break and I spent time with Ryan and friends and family.

Friday: Well after school Ryan and I left for Austin to hang out with friends and his brother and his wife. Our directions were wrong (of course) so it took us a lot longer to get there than we thought. Once we got there we hung out with his friends and we then went to dinner at a restaurant on Lake Travis called Oasis. The view was so pretty because the sun was setting and we sat outside on the patio.

While waiting for our table we went to the third floor that had a Beatles cover band performing and it was an open area for dancing. I wanted to dance but Ryan refuses every time and says he doesn't dance. (Any ideas how to make a guy dance with you??) They had some really pretty lights and I want to do something like that with our patio next spring.

You can kinda see the band in the bottom right. :)

I don't really know how to make something like this on a patio, but maybe i'll have some better ideas by the spring time.

I just liked these lights, they made everything look really pretty at night. This is over the entrance. So if you live the the Austin area then you need to go to this place. My food wasn't spectacular but it was decent and the view and atmosphere was beautiful!

After dinner I left and spent some time with my best friend Erica in Austin. She goes to UT and lives in an apartment so we hung out and went to some parties. I had a lot of fun!

Saturday: We woke up and had a feast at the house we were staying at. That kept us full until late Saturday night. We began to drive back to Dallas and then decided that we would go see my sister and her husband (Lori and Jon) who live in Oklahoma City. That was a long six hour drive and I don't want to have to drive that again! The day was pretty much filled with driving so once we got there we relaxed and had dinner.

Sunday: We went to Buffalo Wild Wings and had lunch and after that my sister and I went to her Junior League fundraiser called Mistletoe Market. It was filled with little sections of boutiques that had clothes, food, jewelry, home goods, and especially holiday decorations. I got a scarf, black cardigan, and cute blueish top. I love to shop! For dinner we had yummy steaks and baked sweet potatoes. MMMMM!

Monday: We didn't have any plans so we lounged around, went to lunch at Chili's and shopped at the mall. For dinner we had baked parmesan and breadcrumb tilapia with pasta and okra and tomatoes. Overall I had a really fun weekend and do not want to go back to school tomorrow!
